Participants learn to understand intercultural competence as a strategic competitive factor and to organise their own actions in a culturally appropriate way:

  • Key aspects of intercultural communication (e.g. culturally determined norms, behaviours, values, verbal and non-verbal communication) with particular emphasis on differences between fact-oriented cultures such as Germany and relationship-oriented cultures such as China and India
  • Influence of different cultural standards on international business relationships (e.g. business initiation, negotiations, employee management, decision-making, conflict resolution, etc.)
  • Empirical studies (e.g. Geert Hofstede, Fons, Trompenaars etc.)
  • Case studies from different cultural areas (e.g. Germany, France, USA, Japan, China, India, etc.).
